From The Dakota Scout:

The South Dakota Republican Party’s only full-time staff member has been charged with a crime for his role in a physical confrontation that took place at the Republican National Convention in July.

Reggie Rhoden, son of Lt. Gov. Larry Rhoden and executive director of the state party, faces a criminal charge of disorderly conduct in relation to an incident that occurred on July 15 as Republicans from across the nation gathered to officially select Donald Trump as their party’s nominee.

Reggie Rhoden, the Executive Director of the SDGOP, “forcefully took a phone” from a Pennington County delegate who was capturing video of the South Dakota delegation.  Sources are saying that Rhoden did not want GOP delegate and Senate candidate Taffy Howard in the video. The action caused an injury to the Pennington County delegate, hit a person in the Maryland delegation and caused a disturbance.

Rhoden will appear in court in Milwaukee on 4 Nov.

Also of note, establishment backed mouthpiece, South Dakota War College, posted an abhorrent post seeming to insinuate that Taffy Howard was the problem. He fails to call out Rhoden, who is clearly the problem. Why does the party continue to support The South Dakota War College with ads?

  1. The SD GOP executive board should take action on this. This is a disgrace and terrible way to treat a delegate, former representative and a future state senator.
