The FCC’s Shortcut on Soros’ Radio Deal: A Threat to Free Speech
In a shocking deviation from established procedures, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has fast-tracked the approval of George Soros’ acquisition of over 200 radio stations across 40 U.S. markets. This decision, which allows foreign ownership far beyond the legal limit of 25 percent, is not only unprecedented—it’s a direct violation of the Federal Communications Act.
An investigation has been opened…another investigation…how many investigations are open right now…are we EVER going to get anywhere? When does accountability and outcomes start to happen!?
Foreign Influence and the Law
FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr warned of this very issue. “The FCC is not following its normal process for reviewing transactions,” Carr noted. “It seems poised, for the first time, to create an entirely new shortcut.”
Why, in this case, has the FCC been so willing to break precedent?
Media Control in the Wrong Hands
Consider the hypocrisy: when a group of conservatives tried to purchase a few radio stations in South Florida, Democrats rushed to the FCC, claiming it might influence the outcome of local elections. Their complaints effectively pushed the conservative buyers out. Yet now, with Soros at the helm, those same voices are notably silent as one man consolidates control of a massive portion of the national airwaves.
This isn’t media competition. It’s media consolidation—and worse, media manipulation.
Propaganda, Not Journalism
For years, mainstream media has drifted away from independent journalism and toward narrative-driven reporting. Under the guise of “fair coverage,” many outlets have turned into state-run propaganda machines.
The press has spent the last few years bombarding former President Trump with overwhelmingly negative coverage while granting President Biden and Vice President Harris mostly favorable treatment. This isn’t mere bias; it’s a blatant attempt to control the narrative and shape public opinion.
And now, with Soros poised to command an even larger slice of the media landscape, we must ask: How much of this narrative will be steered by a single, globalist agenda?
A Threat to Free Speech
The FCC’s rushed approval of this deal undermines the very foundation of a free press. Journalism should challenge those in power, not parrot their talking points. By allowing this kind of unchecked media ownership, the FCC is handing the megaphone to one side of the political spectrum, leaving Americans with fewer sources of truly independent information.
We must remember that propaganda is the enemy of democracy. It suppresses dissent, narrows debate, and divides us further. If we continue down this path, questioning the media’s narrative may soon be seen as heresy.
Dan Bongino weighs in saying exactly what we all are thinking:
Wake Up, America
George Soros’ control of the airwaves is just the latest in a series of moves threatening to erode free speech and journalistic integrity in America. If this doesn’t alarm you, think about what’s next on the globalist agenda.
In response to this growing media takeover, we refuse to stay silent. If you have not already watched documentaries “Out of Shadows” and “Into the Light” add them to your watch list, stat. Share them with everyone you know. We need people out of the trance of misinformation. The battle for truth is more important now than ever before.
Wake up, America—before it’s too late.
