Looks like Lawrence County is calling foul on Rep Mary Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald, who squeaked out a win over her primary challenger, Mark Mowry, is now facing opposition in the General Election by Independent Shana McVickers, who has called Fitzgerald out by name as her reason for deciding to run.
Grassroots movement leader, Katie Hoffmann posted in a Facebook group on Sunday evening the following: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19tXXc8DwGJwXE6F/
Hey Lawrence County, ……… while dealing with two-faced, gaslighting legislators in my We, The People, of South Dakota group and now here. I’ve had enough! Mary Fitzgerald says no lobbyists approached her concerning the pipeline issue. Well, you know why? Because the whole mess of ethanol and carbon pipeline businesses already donated to her campaign, as you see in the screenshots and these links.
-Mort PAC donated $500 to her: it’s funded in part by Glacial Lakes Energy (Will Mortenson was one of the sponsors for SB201),
-POET: linked to Summit, donated $500 to her campaign
-SD Ethanol Producers, which donated $1,000 to her, is funded directly by Bruce Rastetter, the man who started Summit Carbon, to the tune of a $10,000 (see screenshot) and SD Ethanol Producers is also funded in part by POET, GEVO, and Glacial Lakes Energy, ALL connected to the carbon pipeline mess.
For $2,000, Mary Fitzgerald sold out her constituents and voted in favor of the carbon companies every time.
She voted YES on HB1185, which allowed intrusion by project developers on private land for surveys requiring a siting permit
She voted NO on HB1219, which would’ve prohibited the exercise of eminent domain for the construction of pipelines carrying CO2
And of course, she voted YES on SB201, stripping landowners of their constitutional private property rights and counties of local control, after some county commissions worked to pass local laws to protect their citizens’ rights from this.
Do your homework and don’t buy what these people say to you. They’ll say whatever it takes to get your vote without caring about following through or living with enough integrity to speak truth and act on it.
SD Ethanol Producers PAC (Who donated to her campaign):
……….
Rep Fitzgerald is one of the legislators who voted FOR SB201 and managed to make it through the primary elections unscathed while 14 of her fellow YES voters, were dismissed by voters around the state. I guess we will see if Lawrence County voters care to hold her accountable for supporting the CO2 carbon capture scam boondoggle, Green New Deal, illegal land grab that has been inflicted on the people of South Dakota.
