CONGRATULATIONS to the Patriots in Davison County on the results of today’s special election! The County Commission wanted to combine the offices of Auditor and Treasurer to create one County Finance Officer position. The citizens wanted a say as their concerns about the combination of offices were not addressed by the commission. They carried a petition, held a special election, and the citizens of Davison County overwhelmingly rejected the idea. Way to go Davison County! Another WIN for the voice of the People!!

Over the past couple of years we have seen an uptick in citizens pushing back against County Commissions. Maybe it’s time for the Legislature to pass a recall bill like HB1058 which was attenpted in 2021?
