Thanks to SD Canvass for the share on information that the EPA is looking into “Make Sunsets” …
Make Sunsets is a controversial startup founded in 2022 by Luke Iseman and Andrew Song, based in Box Elder, South Dakota. The company focuses on solar geoengineering, specifically stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI), to mitigate climate change. It launches weather balloons filled with sulfur dioxide (SO2) into the stratosphere to create reflective clouds that mimic volcanic eruptions, temporarily cooling the Earth by reflecting sunlight. Make Sunsets sells “cooling credits” for $10 each, claiming one gram of SO2 offsets the warming of one metric ton of CO2 for a year. The company has raised $750,000 from investors, including $500,000 from Boost VC, and operates with a small team, emphasizing rapid deployment over extensive public engagement or scientific consensus. Its actions have sparked significant debate due to potential risks like ozone depletion, acid rain, and disruption of weather patterns, as well as its unilateral approach without regulatory oversight.
Recent EPA Action
Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is investigating Make Sunsets for releasing sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere, citing concerns over injecting “polluting and hazardous chemicals” without proper authorization. This information suggest public and regulatory scrutiny has intensified, with some framing the investigation as a federal response to unauthorized geoengineering. Earlier, in 2022, the EPA noted that releasing pollutants into public spaces could incur civil penalties of up to $25,000 per violation, which may apply to Make Sunsets’ activities.
A 2024 bill to address this very issue was brought by Senator Tom Pischke and deferred to the 41st legislative day (see that vote below), effectively killing the bill. The testimony in that committee includes information about this VERY company and their actions to poison our skies.
Via SD Canvass – please note, the address to which this geoengineering company is registered, is America’s Mail Box, 514 America’s Way, Box Elder, South Dakota. Home to over 16,000 FAKE RESIDENTS of South Dakota, who are illegally registered to vote, and are potentially dodging income tax, insurance and auto registrations in their home state by claiming a fictitious “virtual” address in South Dakota. DOGE and Department of Homeland Security need to audit the tens of thousands of fake residents in South Dakota. We can help.
And…NO surprise to anybody, Dakota War Toilet was WRONG again.
